  • I personally ascribe to the Christian faith and, when welcomed, I enjoy bringing this into my work with clients, but I do not exclusively practice Christian Counseling. I aim to be welcoming of all to my practice, including those who are not Christian or might be deconstructing from the faith. Please view my page on a Perspective of Faith in Therapy for more information.

  • I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Brainspotting. All of these therapies are similar in that they are collaborative in their approach and prioritize clients being an active participant in their care.

  • My official or professional title is Alexander Sullivan, LCSW, LICSW, LIMHP. Those group of letters stand for Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, and Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner. As I hold professional license to practice in multiple states, not every state uses the same title to refer to me, but they all mean the same thing. Each title respectively means I hold a license at the highest level afforded to me to practice psychotherapy in each state respectively. As each state refers to me by a different title, I’m required to list all relevant titles and acronyms as my professional title.
